TEENS + CHIROPRACTIC

You’re never too old or too young to have your spine checked

Chiropractic care is just as important for the growing nervous system and spine as it is for adults.

When our kids walk through the door to adolescence, there are interesting challenges that await them in terms of what happens in the brain.

Essentially, human nature decides that this childlike brain needs to have some modifications in order to become an adult brain that can make sound decisions and be responsible.

Stressed brains struggle to learn as easily as calm brains. Daniel Goleman in his iconic book, Emotional Intelligence, wrote this one profound sentence we all need to remember and which I often quote:

“HAPPY, CALM CHILDREN LEARN BEST.”

Prolonged sitting whether in the classroom, gaming, doing homework etc is impacting the posture of our teens. And of course the impact “text-neck” is having on the spine is set to be profound as research is growing. Chiropractic addresses neuromusculoskeletal imbalances in your teenager’s spine; and may impact the vagus nerve (parasympathetic nervous system aka ‘rest + digest’ part of our autonomic nervous system).

So aside from nurturing your teenagers through this complicated time with nourishing wholefoods; encouraging them to engage in social interactions, outdoor activities (especially in the sun), sports/exercise, and providing them with a loving and supportive home environment (just to name a few!); you can also support their nervous system development with chiropractic care.
