Signs Your Baby May Benefit from Chiropractic Care
Difficulty with tummy time, crawling, or hitting milestones
Positional: doesn’t like - the bassinet/pram, the car, lying on their back, hates tummy time (more than what’s typical)
Babies can be assessed from the newborn stage onwards - even if you’re simply looking for reassurance. Many families bring their baby in during the first days or weeks after birth
Safe, calm and tailored to your baby
Gentle Care Designed for Babies
Baby chiropractic looks very different from adult chiropractic. Techniques are adapted to your baby’s size, age and stage of development, using gentle, precise pressure and movement.
There is no forceful twisting or “cracking”. Your baby can be assessed while lying comfortably, feeding, sleeping or being held by you.
Our aim is to make the whole experience calm - for both baby and parent.
Why Bring a Baby to the Chiropractor?
Birth - even a straightforward, uncomplicated birth - places significant physical demands on a baby’s body. In some babies, tension or reduced movement may become noticeable in the weeks that follow.
Tension, misalignment, or nervous system stress may show up as:
🌸 Difficulty latching or feeding on one side
🌸 Reflux, colic, or excessive gas
🌸 Flat head or head favouring (plagiocephaly/torticollis)
🌸 Constipation or unsettled behaviour
🌸 Sleeping in a stiff or curled position
🌸 Developmental delays or arching through the body
These patterns are common — but that doesn’t mean they’re something your baby has to grow out of.
Our goal is to support the function of your baby’s spine, cranial bones, and nervous system to promote balance, ease, and healthy development.
We work collaboratively with
IBCLCs (lactation consultants), speech pathologists, myofunctional therapists and dentists when feeding concerns require a team approach.
Nomad also has a particular interest in tongue and lip-tie bodywork, including care before and after revision where appropriate.
Just because something is common doesn’t mean it’s something your baby has to grow out of.
Support for Tongue Tie & Feeding Challenges
If your baby is struggling with latching, feeding, or seems unsettled during feeds, tongue tie may be part of the picture.
At Nomad Chiropractic, we regularly support babies with tongue ties as part of a collaborative care approach, working alongside lactation consultants, dentists, paediatricians, and other providers to help your baby feed and settle more comfortably.

Baby & Newborn Chiropractic Care in Mosman
Gentle support for growing bodies and nervous systems
The newborn period involves enormous neurological and physical change. At Nomad, we assess how your baby is moving and adapting after pregnancy and birth, with particular attention to the spine, neck, head movement, muscle tone, reflexes and feeding mechanics.

It’s often not one big issue, but a pattern of small signs or a sense that your baby isn’t settling as expected.
You might notice head preference, feeding difficulties, unsettled behaviour, discomfort in certain positions, or challenges with tummy time and early milestones.
These patterns are common, but not always something your baby has to grow out of.
Most importantly — trust your instinct. If something feels off, it’s worth having your baby gently checked so you can feel reassured and supported.
