What Makes the Nomad Approach to Baby Chiropractic Different?
Holistic, baby-led, neurologically-informed care — for your whole family
Let’s be honest — there’s a lot of noise online about baby chiropractic care. Some people swear by it. Others are sceptical. And in a world where “gentle” parenting is trending and everyone has an opinion, it can be hard to know who to trust with your child.
So why do families choose Nomad Chiropractic? Because we do things differently — and intentionally.
🌱 We don’t chase symptoms — we follow the nervous system
Whether your baby is unsettled, struggling to latch, favouring one side, or just seems "not quite right,” we always start by asking:
What’s going on in the nervous system?
We look for:
Patterns of tone, tension, or asymmetry
Primitive reflexes that are stuck “on”
Signs of sympathetic dominance or stress
Disrupted cranial rhythm or poor postural adaptation
Rather than treating a diagnosis, we gently guide your baby’s system back to balance.
"A neurologically-regulated baby feeds more calmly, digests more rhythmically, and sleeps more deeply."
— Dr. Lucy, Nomad Chiropractic
🧠 We’re trained in more than just spinal work
At Nomad, we use:
Sacro Occipital Technique (SOT) to assess and gently support craniosacral flow
Cranial techniques to ease strain on membranes and nerves
Reflex integration methods to support movement and regulation
Vagus nerve stimulation through breath, tone, and connection
Family-led care plans that grow with your baby
This isn’t cookie-cutter chiropractic. It’s care that adapts to your child — not the other way around.
👐 We create a space for deep trust and connection
Your baby’s body is wise. Your intuition matters. And we honour both.
At Nomad, you’ll never be rushed in or out. Your baby can feed during care, nap through their adjustment, or snuggle with you the entire time. We dim the lights, slow things down, and follow what your child needs in that moment.
We also listen — really listen — to what you’ve observed and what your gut is telling you. That connection becomes the foundation for how we support your family.
🤝 We collaborate — not compete — with other providers
We’re not here to replace your GP, physio, midwife, or lactation consultant. We work alongside them.
Your care might include:
A referral for a tongue tie assessment
Co-care with a paediatric osteopath or myofacial therapist
A letter back to your midwife or paediatrician
Communication with your child health nurse
We document our care, explain our findings, and empower you to bring everyone onto the same page.
“When we all work together — baby, parent, and provider — healing happens faster and deeper.”
✨ We believe in prevention, not panic
We don’t wait until a baby is struggling. We love seeing:
Newborns within the first 2 weeks
Babies preparing for their tongue tie release
Families wanting milestone support or developmental guidance
Parents simply curious about how their baby is functioning
We’d rather support your baby while they’re adapting well, than wait until stress patterns are deeply embedded. It’s why many of our families come back again with their second or third babies — often just days after birth.

Baby Chiropractic FAQ
How gentle are the chiropractic adjustments on newborns?
Chiropractic care for babies uses an extremely light touch — nothing like the adjustments you might picture for adults. The pressure applied is often compared to the amount you’d use to check the ripeness of a tomato or gently press on your closed eyelid. Techniques are tailored specifically to infants, focusing on subtle holds, gentle stretches, or cranial balancing. Many babies will sleep, feed, or stay calm during care. Can baby chiropractic help with breastfeeding issues or tongue-tie?
Feeding challenges such as difficulty latching, fussiness at the breast, or fatigue during feeding can sometimes be linked to tension in the jaw, neck, or tongue muscles. Chiropractors trained in paediatrics often work alongside lactation consultants and dentists to support babies experiencing these issues. While chiropractic care does not “treat” tongue-tie itself, it can help address compensations in the muscles and joints that may affect how a baby feeds, especially before and after tongue-tie release. At what age should I first bring my baby in to a chiropractor for preventive care?
Families often choose to bring their baby for a check in the early weeks of life, especially if the birth involved interventions such as forceps, vacuum, or caesarean section. Early assessment may help identify areas of tension or imbalance as the nervous system develops rapidly in the first year. That said, chiropractic care for babies can begin at any age — whether newborn, 6 months, or toddler years. The focus is always on supporting movement, comfort, and developmental milestones. Is neurological chiropractic care safe for babies with birth complications (C-section, forceps, vacuum extraction)?
Many babies who experienced birth interventions may show signs of tension — for example in the neck, jaw, or shoulders. Chiropractic techniques designed for infants are adapted to be safe and appropriate, regardless of birth history. Practitioners carefully assess each baby before providing care, and the approach is always gentle, precise, and responsive to the baby’s comfort. Chiropractors may also recommend working in partnership with other professionals (midwives, GPs, lactation consultants, dentists) where needed. What is reflex integration and how does it support baby development?
Babies are born with primitive reflexes — automatic movements like rooting, sucking, or the startle reflex — that help them survive in early life. Over time, these reflexes should “integrate” and make way for more advanced motor skills, such as rolling, crawling, and walking. If reflexes remain active for too long, they may affect posture, movement, or even behaviour. Chiropractors with training in reflex integration can assess these reflexes and use gentle techniques and exercises to support smoother neurological development.
