Meet Teri

Originally from Cape Town, South Africa, Teri qualified as a chiropractor in New Zealand before building her clinical experience across New Zealand and Spain. She later completed a Master’s degree in Neuroscience at the University of Barcelona, adding to her extensive clinical background. After years of living, working and studying internationally, Teri has recently made the move to Australia.

Teri’s own journey into chiropractic began through her experience with migraines as a contemporary dancer and singer. Experiencing first-hand the impact that pain could have on movement, performance and quality of life ultimately shaped the direction of her career.

More than a decade later, her background in movement remains an important part of the way she practises. She enjoys understanding how the different parts of the body work together and helping patients move beyond the limitations that pain, stiffness or injury can place on everyday life.

Teri's Approach To Chiropractic Care

Teri works with clients experiencing migraines, concussions, sports-related injuries, and a wide range of health concerns. She focuses on improving energy, restoring harmony within the body, and supporting optimal movement and function. By helping the body operate in sync, she empowers clients to free up energy for the activities they love and the passions they pursue.

She conducts thorough health assessments and creates tailored care plans for each patient. She emphasizes addressing structural imbalances and biomechanical function, using precise adjustments to support spinal health, nervous system communication, and overall wellbeing. Teri also helps clients cultivate healthy habits for lasting change, leveraging her neuroscience expertise to support stress management, internal balance, and long-term vitality.

Through her adjustments, Teri enables clients to conserve energy for what truly matters, whether that’s excelling in sports, spending quality time with loved ones, or exploring creative pursuits.

Back Pain, Sciatica, Neck Pain & Headaches

Adult musculoskeletal care is a major focus of Teri’s practice at Nomad.

She commonly works with people experiencing lower back pain, sciatica and leg pain, neck pain and stiffness, headaches, migraines, concussion, upper back and shoulder tension, postural strain and restricted movement.

Her background in dance and movement also makes her a natural fit for active clients experiencing sports-related injuries, recurring aches or mobility restrictions.

Teri’s goal is to understand not only what hurts, but how the problem is affecting the person’s life. That might mean returning to the gym or sport, sitting comfortably at work, keeping up with children or simply being able to move through the day with greater confidence.

Pregnancy, Babies & Children

While Teri has a strong adult and musculoskeletal focus, she is also trained and experienced in pregnancy and paediatric chiropractic care.

She enjoys supporting women through the physical changes of pregnancy and providing age-appropriate chiropractic care for babies and children.

Assessment and techniques are adapted to the individual, their presentation and stage of life, allowing Teri to care for different members of the family under the one roof.

Advanced Training & Qualifications

Teri completed her chiropractic training at New Zealand College of Chiropractic, has completed a Masters in Neuroscience; and has undertaken additional postgraduate education in pregnancy, paediatrics, family care and more.

Her qualifications include:

  • Bachelor of Chiropractic Science (NZCC)

  • Master of Neuroscience

  • Webster Technique Certified

  • Thompson Technique

  • Ongoing postgraduate training

Spanish-Speaking Chiropractic Care

Teri is fluent in Spanish as well as English and welcomes Spanish-speaking patients who feel more comfortable discussing their health and care in Spanish.

Having lived and worked internationally herself, she enjoys connecting with people from different backgrounds and making patients feel comfortable, understood and able to ask questions about their care.

Beyond The Clinic

The ocean has always been a big part of life for Cape Town-born Teri.

Outside the clinic, she loves surfing, dancing, making music, animals and spending time outdoors. She also maintains a keen interest in neuroscience and the relationship between the brain, body and movement.

After years of international travel, work and study, Teri has recently made the move to Australia and is looking forward to settling into Sydney and becoming part of the local community.
